Makeover Your Kitchen with These Organization Tips
by Mary Butler

Famed television chef Julia Child learned how to cook in a tiny Paris apartment, and as a result, she became a pro at utilizing every square inch of her kitchen space. If you ever watched her public television show, you will remember the pegboard from which well-used pots and pans and other kitchen tools hung.
Hanging your pots and pans (and outlining them so you know where to return them, as Child did) is among a number of easy and inexpensive ways to organize your kitchen.

Here are a few more kitchen ideas, compliments of Julia Child, to consider as you conduct your kitchen makeover:

·         There's no need to buy pots in sets. Buy only what you need.
·         If you're remodeling your kitchen, be sure you include plenty of counter space. If you are tall or petite, adjust the counter height so that it's comfortable for you or create a special prep area just for you.
·         Use magnetic strips to hang knives and tongs. This allows for quick and easy access, as well as good care for your high-quality knives. Knives are dulled when placed in a wood block and their blades can be nicked if placed in a drawer where they can knock against each other.
·         Be sure to provide yourself ample task lighting in the kitchen so you can see what you're doing.

And, as you cook and spend time in your kitchen, take time to write down any ideas you have for making your kitchen a better place for you to work and enjoy.
